(Washington, DC)— U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), the lead Democrat on the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations subcommittee which funds the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), announced with Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) today that NOAA and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) will award $136,242 to the New Hampshire Nature Conservancy for the Tidal Crossing Replacements for a Resilient Coastal New Hampshire project, which will be matched dollar for dollar.

WASHINGTON – Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan and Congresswomen Carol Shea-Porter and Annie Kuster today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded more than $6 million in federal grants to support New Hampshire’s transportation infrastructure.
Work will start this summer to realign and reconstruct two taxiways at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
Most of the cost will be paid with a $6.8 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“There will be no impact to normal operations this year,” Interim Airport Director Tom Malafronte said Monday.
“Next year, it will be necessary to close (the airport’s north-south) Runway 17-35 for a short time to allow the contractor to tie in the new taxiways,” he said.

The new configuration will ensure they meet current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) design standards and will enhance safety and efficiency for aircraft arriving and departing on Runway 35.
