Shea-Porter Congratulates Local Schools on Prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award
WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) today announced that two First District schools, Riddle Brook School and Belmont Middle School, have earned recognition by the U.S. Department of Education as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2017.
“I’m proud to congratulate Riddle Brook School and Belmont Middle School on their much-deserved recognition as 2017 National Blue Ribbon Schools,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “These awards are an impressive testament to the talent and dedication of Riddle Brook and Belmont Middle faculty and staff, and the schools’ parents and communities should be very proud of the great learning environment they are providing for their kids.”
This year, just 342 schools across the country earned Blue Ribbon recognition. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. Representatives from the schools will be invited to participate in a recognition ceremony on November 6th and 7th in Washington, D.C.
